This Thursday, I attended the district semi-finals of this year’s Rotary Youth Speaks competition. The Tomlinscote team had progressed to this stage after we won the heat at Aldershot Rotary, where I was commended as best speaker.
Although we had hoped that we could progress to the next round, we were motivated by the many pieces of kind feedback and have a lot to take away and use to improve even more. We are all inspired to come back next year for a second attempt as well as help develop the junior team.
I have really enjoyed debating our topic of “Should the Youth Speak Up?” and can’t wait for next year’s competition so we can continue working as a great team.
